The first big announcement from InterGEO comes from Leica Geosystems HDS – it’s the ScanStation P20. Billed as an ultrahigh speed scanner, capable of 1 million points per second what makes this impressive is that they claim the range noise is sub-millimeter at the maximum of 120 m.
What really caught my eye, since it is something that I have been asking for is what they are calling “Check and Adjust”. With “Check & Adjust” users can electronically check the accuracy of their instrument and adjust it themselves to ensure the highest level of performance, without having to send it to the factory or service center. A little less black box, now that is really good news.
No word on pricing, but as soon as I hear I will let you know.
