Now for starters, how many organizations are hosting their 93rd annual conference? That means the first one was held in the early 1920’s. I wonder what the highway system was like back then. I imagine there was some mass transit in the form of trolleys and maybe a few subways, but the road system had to be almost non-existent. That would make a fascinating book, at least for civil engineers. Here’s a Wikipedia link.
In any case the Transportation Research Board (TRB) 93rd Annual Meeting will be held in Washington, D.C. at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, Omni Shoreham, and Washington Hilton hotels. The information-packed program will attract nearly 12,000 transportation professionals from around the world to Washington, D.C., January 12-16, 2014.
Unfortunately I am not going to attend this year. Perhaps someone can provide us with a report.
