In a brief conversation with Faraz Ravi, the key architect of point cloud technology at Bentley Systems he confirmed what I had been hearing during the presentations. Support for point clouds is going to be in the platform. There will be less emphasis on vertical applications and more on horizontal empowerment.
And it won’t be just limited to laser scanned point clouds there will be support for video, photography and more. Sounds a bit like the reality capture strategy from Autodesk.
