NIST is also reporting on results from their testing of scanners in conformance with the recently approved ASTM large volume scanning standard.

I had a very interesting conversation with long time supporter of this blog Bill Gutelius about the new ZEB REVO from GeoSLAM. If you have not been tracking the evolution of this product the REVO now includes a motor to rotate the scanner thereby eliminating the need to rock the unit back and forth. This design change has dramatically increased the interest in this product. Kudos to the GeoSLAM team.

Maptek is hosting a conference in South Africa that looks interesting.
