Great article. I think the electric transmission industries were very early adopters of airborne LIDAR. Clearly when economics are at play, technical and business people reach for cost-saving, innovative approaches. Many experts in the utilities area I used to speak to in the mid-to-late ’90’s were able to clearly articulate a significant ROI in the application of LIDAR to this business.
