John Caya informed me that:
“The USDOT and GTMA have joined together in support of a multimodal transportation data conference on June 2-4, 2014 in Arlington, Va. The conference combines GTMA’s Annual Meeting and the TransData Exposition with USDOT’s Data Palooza. The collection and integration of transportation data was a major focus of the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) signed into law by President Obama on July 6, 2012.
This year there are several talks that will focus on LiDAR, including “Developing Standards for Network LiDAR Data Collection,” how LiDAR relates to autonomous vehicles in the Automated Vehicle Basemap Committee meeting, and “Network-Level LiDAR for Asset Management: Where do we go from here…” being given by Ray Mandli. Also, the Secretary of Transportation, Anthony R. Foxx, will be speaking at opening of the conference.”
