The kick-off of the geospatial year has begun with product previews, workshops and the first keynote of Geo Week 2024 entitled, “The Bright Future Ahead: Navigating AEC, 3D, and Geospatial Innovation and Change.” Despite the scheduling challenge of the event opening on the same day as the Super Bowl, the ballroom and exhibit hall seemed very crowded.
It was interesting to see how many UAV companies were exhibiting. For a couple of years the show was all about mobile vehicle mapping, but UAVs seem to be stealing the show this year.
The common thread in all of this tech is 3D. More and more companies are leveraging 3D technology
One of the most important milestones worthy of note was the first ever sharing of a booth by Esri and Autodesk. At one time these companies were enemies.
