Forget all that talk about autonomous vehicles. The real future of transportation may be flying cars. No, I have not gone over the edge. There is a company Zee.Aero that Larry Page has reportedly invested $100 million in and that has 150 employees working on this idea.
Based in the heart of Silicon Valley, Zee is developing a revolutionary new form of transportation. Working at the intersection of aerodynamics, advanced manufacturing, and electric propulsion, they provide a stimulating environment where creative employees can explore new challenges.
Page is also investing in Kitty Hawk. As Google likes to say they want to work on projects that can change the world.
Think it’s crazy?
“Self-flying aircraft is so much easier than what the auto companies are trying to do with self-driving cars,” Mark Moore, an aeronautical engineer who has spent his career designing advanced aircraft at NASA, told Bloomberg, adding: “Over the past five years, there have been these tremendous advances in the underlying technology. What appears in the next 5 to 10 years will be incredible.”
