Leica GeoSystems recently announced, albeit rather quietly the release of CloudWorx for Revit. In general, it seems there has not been as much discussion around “scan to BIM” lately. Not sure if that is the result of Autodesk announcing that Revit could support point clouds, or for some other reasons.
Demonstrated for the first time publicly last week at SPAR Europe I have not heard much about it. The development of Leica CloudWorx for Revit was enabled by an API introduced by Autodesk with Revit 2012 in March 2011 and by the ability to use Leica Geosystems technology for efficient point cloud data management.
The product will ship in December, but please let us know if have any further thoughts or information.
