Cintoo, the leading provider of cloud-based Reality Data management and collaboration solutions, has successfully closed a €37 million Series B funding round. The round was led by Partech, a global tech investment firm, with existing investors Amavi Capital and Armilar Venture Partners also joining the round. With the fresh funding, Cintoo will enhance its SaaS platform by expanding its portfolio of integrations and will double down on investments to provide cutting-edge applications for the construction and industrial sectors. This includes building on its brand-new industrial metaverse experience and automatic asset tagging capabilities. These efforts will foster its international growth in the US and Europe.

“We are thrilled to partner with a new, renowned investor that shares and backs our vision”, said Dominique Pouliquen, CEO of Cintoo. “This investment will allow us to accelerate the development of our platform, expand our global footprint, and continue to innovate in the field of Reality Data management.”

Lidar News had a brief follow-on interview with Dominique to learn more about this major announcement. We first congratulated him and his team of almost 100 employees with nearly 60 being located in the south of France. Founded in 2013, Cintoo specializes in transforming large 3D laser scan data into high-resolution 3D meshes that are 10 to 20 times smaller without sacrificing accuracy. They are a leader in converting point clouds into meshes. This is what separates them from the competition.

Dominique explained that his top three areas where Cintoo plans to put the cash infusion to work are worldwide sales execution, technical innovation and customer support. He explained that Cintoo is actually pursuing three target markets – construction, manufacturing and energy.

On the technology front Dominique explained that once people understand and work with the 3D reality mesh data they are hooked. Their platform is very “sticky.” Dominique expects to use the venture capital to improve overall software integration with products like SAP for their customers. This includes the use of AI to automate the data classification and creation of more intelligent 3D real world models, as well as SDK’s and API’s to empower custom development.

Unlike some companies Cintoo is able to attract qualified staff to both the south of France and Miami, although many people are working remotely, coming into the office 3 days a week.

On a final note Dominique explained that Cintoo is very committed to the industrial metaverse. This involves the use of augmented and extended reality which does not necessarily require the use of headsets.

Cintoo is as well positioned technically as any software company in our 3D reality data world and with Dominique’s strong leadership the future is very bright for this impressive firm.
