3D Digital Models of Egyptian Mummies

Autodesk has announced a really interesting project in part to demonstrate the power of Recap, their recently released reality capture add-on for a number of Autodesk products including AutoCAD and Revit. It involves the 3D data imaging and scanning of 6 Egyptian mummies that are part of the collection at a museum in Sweden.

The digital models are being used to allow visitors to investigate the mummies in 3D using a digital table display. This certainly has to be the future of these kinds of exhibits.
