- MAPPS and ASPRS are teaming up to present a Digital Mapping conference.
- One of the main themes will be the use of LiDAR.
- This is certain to be one of the most important events of the year given the lineup of presenters.
MAPPS and ASPRS are joining forces to offer an important specialty conference November 16 – 19, 2009 in San Antonio, TX. Digital Mapping – From Elevation to Information is going to have a primary focus on LiDAR mapping. There will be over 100 technical sessions and updates from the USGS on the National LiDAR Initiative, as well as a panel highlighting the National Geospatial Advisory Committee (NGAC) Forum. There are also a number of workshops including using LiDAR for vegetation assessment.
From a quick look at the Preliminary Program all of the key players and organizations will be represented. In addition to LiDAR there will also be a number of technical sessions on IFSAR, and other digital sensor technologies including data fusion concepts. This will certainly be one of the top remote sensing conferences of the year and an opportunity to network with the leading people in the industry.
I just checked the GSA contract site again and I still do not see the announcement. Let me know.
