USGS LiDAR No Longer Discoverable via OpenTopography

It appears that the funding for CLICK is running out. If you want to access the USGS LiDAR database you will need to use the EarthExplorer system.

The USGS Earth Explorer (EE) tool provides users the ability to query, search, and order satellite images, aerial photographs, and cartographic products from several sources. OpenTopography hopes to again offer access to USGS lidar through the OpenTopography Find Data map.

The data can be downloaded for free in DIELMO 3D’s Lidar-Online. Link below:

  2. What program is best suited for importing the .las files obtained from Earth Explorer? I am a surveying student and would like to use the information for future projects. Right now I have access only to Terramodel and AutoCAD. Thank you.
