NH Champs

2013-4-10-Rowing-02I am busy today preparing for my one rowing regatta of the year – the New Hampshire Championships. It is usually a delayed start due to fog on the Merrimac River, but I think it is going to be too warm for that.

So wish me luck. I will need it. This race gives me something to train hard for all summer, but I am not one of the top veterans. I am hoping for the middle of the pack.

The people who run the regatta always get a laugh when they ask me my name and I tell them Roe. I guess I was supposed to be a rower, just wish I had started a lot earlier.

As the father of a competitive rower, I know just how tough those regattas can be.

    Good Luck, Gene!!
