I need to update everyone on a BIG mistake that I made in yesterday’s post. I somehow got the idea that the SHRP project was going to be done using LiDAR. Thanks to David Lowe at Fugro Roadware for setting the record straight in his comment.
He reports that, “Network level asset management projects tend to be better suited to Video GPS technology based systems as opposed to LiDAR. There will always be exceptions but we have found this to be true for most asset management projects where our current service offering gives the greatest value for the accuracy and precision required for these projects”.
In the end this is important to know, but I apologize for the error.
