I am not quite sure how else you would spell it, but for an 11 year old I guess it could have been a trick question. Laura Newcombe from Toronto won the Canadian national spelling bee and $15,000 when she correctly spelled out l-i-d-a-r, according to a report in the Ottawa Citizen.
