Interesting LiDAR Blogs

In the past couple days I have come across two outstanding blogs that highlight work being done using 3D laser scanning and LiDAR. The first is from the Public Safety Group at Leica GeoSystems. The most recent post concerns the use of laser scanning to determine the veracity of an eye witness. People are not always correct about what they think they saw.

The second example is a blog hosted by Atlantic, a remote sensing firm with an impressive client list based in Huntsville, Alabama. A recent post on that site describes a project done to develop a digital terrain model for the Bandelier National Monument after a devastating wildfire ravaged that area. I have never felt closer to the roots of this country than when I hiked into Bandelier – it is a very special place. Look for more about this in an upcoming LiDAR News Magazine article.
