In response to Friday’s post on the need for more intelligent laser scanners Tom Laux at ASC 3D responded that his firm is working on the next generation of laser scanners, but he needs input from the marketplace. In particular he is looking for mission requirements, and the features that are needed in the field.
Tom says that, “We’re in the middle of “next-gen” features including additional on-camera processing power, algorithm enhancement and application features. If one considers how cheap CMOS-based processing power is these days, it’s an easy decision to add functionality to new chips. The point is to “capture” the requirements and “nice-to-haves”.
Here is a great opportunity to influence the design of the next generation of laser scanners, at least from ASC 3D.
