GeoDigital and Google Announce Important Collaboration

In what I think may be a first, at least for ILMF a press conference was held today to announce a very important agreement to collaborate between GeoDigital and Google. The stated purpose is “to provide faster, smarter solutions for utilities” and the platform for doing this is Google’s Maps Engine. This is essentially providing GeoDigital with access to the core Google mapping technology along with the ability to connect to the cloud via mobile devices.

This is a game changer for GeoDigital and perhaps the industry. Congratulations to all for opening these doors. More details to follow.

When will more details be available, please? Where is the product, in terms of its development, and when do they expect to launch the product and make it available to utilities? Hard to get a sense for these, from the little bit written about the announcement. Thanks.
