The Esri Survey Summit begins this morning with a series of lightening talks from a number of the professional surveyor organizations including NGS, CLPS and NSPS. I am going to be presenting an overview of the ASCE Infrastructure Report Card and challenging the audience to consider developing a similar concept for geospatial data.
It will be interesting to hear these reports. Unfortunately the word that I get is that at the national level survey organizations are continuing to find it challenging to build active memberships. Unlike ASCE and AIA the surveying community, which includes ASPRS are struggling to create real value for their members. It’s a sad state of affairs.
