This short article provides valuable insight on selecting the right type of wind measuring LiDAR to match what you are trying to measure. The pulsed system does not provide the temporal resolution of a continuous wave design, but it can measure in multiple range gates at the same time.
In the early days of GPS when the constellation was still being filled out if you wanted to get an accurate position you had to plan ahead. Given the potential for loss of GPS signal in mobile scanning applications if you want to increase your chances of a stronger satellite geometry Baker Mobile LiDAR explains how they still have to plan ahead.

Thanks for sharing our blog. There are a lot of things to consider when performing a Mobile LiDAR project – GPS only being one of the them. Unlike the earlier days of GPS when it was common place to create obstruction diagrams for static base stations, our roving Mobile LiDAR unit presents a unique challenge with respect obstructions. Our planning helps provide the framework for success and while keeping the back office processing (and staff) in mind.
Thanks again,
