The scale of these 2 projects – one onshore and one offshore recently announced by CGC is truly impressive. Established in 1987, today CGC has grown to be a 1000+ people company catering to the wide-ranging technological requirements of almost all big giants in Qatar.
With over 11,000 laser scans and 25,000 images, and that’s just for the onshore project, it is hard to imagine something larger. But what is even more impressive is the level of detail of the 3D modeling that was performed to create truly intelligent actionable information.
This has certainly raised the bar.
I liked this !!! amazing 3D project and very usefull por Offshore industry
I would like to point out that both of the projects that CGC have cited in this article were actually laser scanned by Hi-Cad (www.hi-cad.com) which is part of the Intertek Group (www.intertek.com).
If anyone has any relevant questions about this work we will be happy to discuss this with them.

I remember as a SP3D consultant,we used Hi-Cad services to scan KNPC plants and then referring the 3D point clouds into Plant designing software viz. SmartPlant 3D to complete the As-built model.
