This ILMF10 session included an excellent presentation by Lewis Graham from GeoCue on the basics of mobile mapping. Lewis is one of the true veterans in the LiDAR business, with probably as much hands on experience in working with the data than anyone.
Lewis provided very detailed information on planning, workflows and accuracy. Based on his information he believes the cost of a mobile mapping system is north of $1 million, and that does not include the 4 office personnel that would be needed to process the data.
