3D Laser Scanning and Revit Modeling

The data was captured by Underhill Geomatics with the Faro Focus 3D laser scanner and the Leica TCA2003 total station. The Lidar data was processed in Faro Scene, Bentley Pointools, and Cloudworx for Revit. The modeling was created directly in Revit. The video fly-through was rendered in Bentley Pointools, Autodesk 3DS Max, and Live Movie Maker.

The field survey took approximately 3 days to complete and the 3D Revit model and point cloud was available for engineering within approximately 2 weeks of data capture. The project highlights the fully parametric Revit model which is to be used directly for detailed design engineering and rendering, in the native Revit environment.

An impressive example of how things are progressing with Revit and point clouds.
